Summer 2024 Volunteer Opportunities

Are you passionate about science?  Do you enjoy working with kids?  If so, Science Venture offers a Junior Counsellor Volunteer program to assist our instructors in delivering exciting, fun, and quality summer programs. You’ll have the opportunity to lead games, work with a team, become more familiar with the UVic campus, and participate in the delivery of STEM programming!

Who can Volunteer?

If you are a high school student entering grades 10-12 in Fall 2024 who’s interested in science education we encourage you to apply. This position will help develop your leadership skills and contribute to your mandatory hours of volunteer work for graduation.

JC applicants must be available to volunteer for at least 2 full weeks of camp between July 2nd and August 23rd.

All applicants must also complete a criminal record check before the start of camps. More information and assistance on completing this process will be provided after submitting your application.

Step 2:  Prepare Your Application
Complete your Junior Counsellor Program Application. Full packages must include:

• New and Returning JC Volunteer Application Form

• Essay (max 250-words) on why this experience would be important to you

• Teacher Reference Form

Step 3: Submit Your Application
Applications can be submitted by emailing both the completed application form and essay as a PDF to <svcamp@uvic.ca>. If you have any questions or issues please email our Camp Coordinators at <svcamps@uvic.ca>.
