Summer 2026 Volunteer Opportunities
Are you passionate about science? Do you enjoy working with kids? If so, Science Venture offers a Junior Counsellor Volunteer program to assist our instructors in delivering exciting, fun, and quality summer programs. You’ll have the opportunity to lead games, work with a team, become more familiar with the UVic campus, and participate in the delivery of STEM programming!

JC’s will receive $100 towards a high-school camp of their choice!

Early Bird Application Deadline: Thursday, May 7th, 2025 @ 4:00pm

Who can Volunteer?
If you are a high school student entering grades 10-12 in Fall 2026 who’s interested in science education we encourage you to apply. This position will help develop your leadership skills and contribute to your mandatory hours of volunteer work for graduation.
JC applicants must be available to volunteer for at least 2 full weeks of camp between June 29th and August 28th.
All applicants must also complete a criminal record check before the start of camps. More information and assistance on completing this process will be provided after submitting your application.

Step 2: Prepare Your Application
Before you fill out this application make sure you have the following:
Around 30 free minutes to fill out the application
A parent/guardian present to provide their consent
A teacher's permission to be used as your reference, and their email
STEP 3: APply!
Applications Open: Friday, April 17th, 2025 @ 4:00pm
Early Bird Application Deadline: Thursday, May 7th, 2025 @ 4:00pm
Step 3: Teacher Reference
After your application is submitted, a reference request will be sent to your teacher at the email you have provided us. Once we have received this reference, your application is complete!
